...I'm still alive. Err, does anyone remember me?

So my hiatus that was intended to last a couple of months ended up lasting a couple of years. Whoops! I'm still not sure whether I'll post this. I only logged in to see if I could find a certain private entry (I didn't). I've missed the pretend-social side of journaling a lot during this time, but LJ is a huge time vortex and I'm not sure if I want to be sucked into it again. Besides, this was very much a fandom journal and since I haven't been active in fandoms since HP I don't know what I'd write about.

What Is Going On:
1. I switched my major again - I'm studying Finnish and General Literature (iffy translation), I think this is finally my endgame.
2. I spent a couple of years really worried about money until I finally got a job that actually pays for my food and rent. (I'm a substitute mail carrier lolz) Buying stuff is awesome.
3. I still haven't been in a relationship with anyone. I cry about this about as often as previously.
4. Fandomwise, after HP fandom slowed down I lurked a little in Star Trek and Sherlock Holmes fandoms, but didn't settle anywhere. I've been mostly obsessing over stuff like knitting and interior design blogs. I have watched lots of TV though: Mad Men, Jonathan Creek, Golden Girls, Glee, Poirot and the rather awful Peter Wimsey TV adaptations.
5. All of my old fan art disappeared from the internet when my paid account expired, I downloaded most(?) of it and will put it up under my own domain some day when I'm less lazy. I don't think anyone cares but archiving is hot.
6. I'm trying to figure out how to meet people & form social relationships in the real world. This is DIFFICULT.

I'll try to write a real entry later tonight, but greed comes first. ;)

Apparently this started in H_E but I totally missed it until recently. I have many things I should rather be doing, but this sounds too fun to pass.

We were in our rooms in Baker Street one evening. I was (I remember) by the centre table writing out 'The Adventure of the Man Without a Cork Leg' (which had so puzzled the Royal Society and all the other scientific bodies in Europe), and Holmes was amusing himself with a little revolver practice.

It was his custom of a summer evening to fire round my head, just shaving my face, until he had made a photograph of me on the opposite wall, and it is a slight proof of his skill that many of these portraits in pistol shots are considered admirable likenesses.
